is a writer, editor, and general hellraiser. They think about and report on politics, identity, movements, and culture, and use they/them pronouns.

Most recently, Lex was Teen Vogue’s politics editor and writer. Their political coverage has been published by outlets including the Cut, the BBC, The Intercept, The Nation, and The New Republic, and their culture writing has been published by Them, i-D, Vulture, The FADER, Alternative Press, Bitch Media, and more.

Teen Vogue was awarded the Roosevelt Institute’s Freedom of Speech and Expression Award in 2025, celebrating their “crucial political coverage” for “fill[ing] a crucial gap in today’s media landscape.” A member of the Trans Journalist Association, in 2023 Lex was nominated for a GLAAD award for Outstanding Online Journalism for their 2022 criticism of how the New York Times and other liberal media approach trans healthcare.

Lex has appeared widely in the media to discuss their work, including on cable television, NPR, podcasts, and more, in addition to a frequent event panelist. They are available for college class visits as well as workshop facilitation and consultation around their coverage areas, and are open for commissions. Lex is at work on a book proposal about their time as an anti-sexual violence organizer, #MeToo, and how abolitionist feminism can combat rape culture. They hold a Master of Arts in Creative Publishing and Critical Journalism from the New School for Social Research.
